1. Server Banner Safe Zone & Readability Guidance

Discord officially specifies that the top 48 pixels of a server banner are partially overlaid by the server title and navigation UI on desktop clients. Keep critical artwork, logos, and typography below this 48px boundary to avoid awkward visual obstruction.

2. The 256 KiB vs 256 KB Boundary on Custom Emojis

Discord's backend enforces a strict binary kilobyte limit: 256 KiB (262,144 bytes). Files that are 257,000 bytes will fail upload even though some operating systems report them as "256 KB" using decimal prefixes. Discord Asset Studio measures the exact encoded Blob byte length in memory before allowing download.

3. Custom Stickers: APNG vs GIF

Discord custom stickers must be exactly 320x320 pixels and under 512 KiB (524,288 bytes). For animated stickers, Discord recommends Animated PNG (APNG) with a maximum duration of 5 seconds and up to 60 frames per second. While developer documentation mentions Lottie files, standard user and server uploads rely on APNG.
